Congratulations on your posting to ACS (Barker Road) to commence your secondary school education. It will be a new phase of your development and we are happy to welcome you to be part of the family.
Registration (20 Dec 2018, 8:30am to 25 Dec 2018, 11:59 pm)
Although you would have received the posting notification that you are to report to the school on Thursday, 20 December 2018 for your registration, we are pleased to inform you that you do not need to be physically present on our campus on that day if you are posted to the Express stream.
Please do the online registration following the steps below:
1. Go to https://acsbrsps.ntrix.sg.
2. You will be asked to enter the last 5 characters of your NRIC No and PSLE score, for verification.
(E.g NRIC: 4567A, T-Score: 235) Returning Singaporeans or students without PSLE score are to enter 999 for their T-Score.
3. Complete all fields.
The online registration portal will open on Thursday 20 December 2018 from 8:30 am onward.
Please complete the registration latest by Tuesday 25 December 2018 11:59 pm.
Briefing on Subject-Based Banding
If you are posted to the Normal (Academic) or Normal (Technical) stream, besides doing the online registration as above, you will need to attend a briefing about Subject-Based Banding at 8:30am on Thursday 20 December at the school's Tan Cheng Siong Drama Theatre. This briefing is important and you must attend the briefing.
Start of School 2019 - Important Information for Students and Parents
To ensure you are well prepared for the start of your Secondary school journey with us, please note the following information.
Reporting & Dismissal Time and Venue
Daily reporting time: You should be at assembly grounds by 7:35 am every day except Wednesdays when you should be at assembly grounds by 8:35am. School starts at 7:40am sharp every day except Wednesdays when school starts at 8:40am.
Reporting venue: Tennis courts (good weather) / Classrooms (inclement weather)
*Note that classrooms for Sec 1 are on Level 4 of the Secondary school academic block.
2:30 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
1:30 pm on Fridays (Muslim students are dismissed at 12:30pm for Friday prayers at the mosques)
Depending on your child's / ward's involvement in CCAs / Academic coaching / school programmes such as Learning Journeys, Values-In-Action, etc, he may have a different dismissal time on affected days.

Sec 1 Orientation Programme
To orientate our new Sec 1 students, the Sec 1 Orientation programme will be held on 2 and 3 January 2019.
Please note that they will be dismissed at 2:30 pm on both days.
Sec 1 Meet-The-Parents and CCA Open House
This would be held on 4 January 2019 (Friday) and the details are as follows:
2:30 pm to 3:15 pm
Informal meeting with Form Teachers in your son’s classroom
(Level 4 of Secondary school academic block)
3:30 pm to 4:15 pm
Address by Principal, Mr Loo Ming Yaw, at Mrs Lee Choon Guan Concert Hall
4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
CCA Open House at Tan Chin Tuan Sports Hall.

Sec 1 CCA Registration Matters
CCA selection trial dates for Sec 1 Students

Online CCA registration for Sec 1 Students
Students should go for trials for the CCAs they are interested before signing up for CCAs in Sec 1.
Sec 1 CCA registration will be done on this LINK between 28th Jan 2019, 8am to 30th Jan 2019, 5pm.
Update: Sec 1 CCA allocation will be announced on tentatively 7th Feb 2019 via FTs.
Guideline for Sec 1 CCA registration:
1. Select your CCA choices in order of preference (1 for 1st choice and so on).
2. You must select at least 1 CCA from Performing Arts group and 1 CCA from Uniformed Group within your 5 choices.
3. Allocation of CCA will depend on your interest (your CCA choice ranking), attitude and aptitude (selection trial results).
Hence, please attend CCA selection trials before you make your CCA choices in order for us to allocate the most suitable CCA for you.
4. You may opt to sign up for Christian Society or Media Resource as SECOND CCA together with a MAIN CCA.

Sale of Uniforms
You may purchase your son's uniform from the school uniform vendor, Bibi & Baba. They will be based in school (Level 2 Computer Lab 1) on 19th & 20th December 2018 from 9 am to 4 pm. After the above dates, you can purchase the uniforms at the following address:

Your son is required to purchase a chromebook for the school's 1:1 Learning. You can find more details about the chromebook purchase at this LINK. For your convenience, the school has invited some chromebook vendors to set up booths in the Primary School Canteen during the CCA Open House on 4 Jan. Parents should not feel compelled to purchase their chromebooks from these vendors. You are free to purchase the chromebook via any sources, e.g. online or from other retailers. You are also advised to compare prices and specifications before committing to the purchase.
Please finalise your chromebook purchase by 19 Jan so that the device can be delivered by Term 2. The school will then proceed to install the software on the chromebook. 1:1 Learning for the Sec 1 will commence from 28 March 2019 and students should bring their chromebooks to school daily for their learning.
